Thank you for Being My Friend

For this card, I knew I wanted to do a tone on tone background with clear embossing. I was shooting for an elegant look. I was so happy with how the background turned out, that it was days before I could finish the card.

I would just go into my craft room and stare and it and sign because it was so pretty. I was afraid to ruin it by finishing it. Has that ever happened to you?

Anyway...one day I was blog hopping when inspiration struck and I knew how I was going to finish my card...and I love it. Now I go into my craft room to stare at my completed card and sigh. I may have to make more than one. One to give away and one to keep on display to make me happy.

Happy Stamping!!

Lawn Fawn and Depth Perception

I was SO HAPPY to get my new Lawn Fawn dies in the mail. Hooray! These hot air balloons are so beautiful and I couldn't wait to play with them. I wanted to find some paper than I had in 12x12 and 6x6 so I could create added depth perception with the larger and smaller prints. I love how it turned out.

Here is a close up of the balloons with the different size pattern in each of them. I used paper from the Lawn Fawn Pink Lemonade Collection.

Happy Stamping!!

Thinking of You... and Stamp Kissing

When I saw the tie stamp in the Kelly Purkey Dude Stamp Set, included in the June Simon Says Stamp Kit, I new I wanted to play with it. I had a lot of fun doing a technique I had learned from Jennifer McGuire several months ago called stamp kissing.

I was like a kid in a candy store pulling out all of my texture background stamps and creating as many ties as I could think of. This card is perfect for the men in my life (husband, sons) who wear white shirts and ties almost every day.

There are to many stamps used here to list them all, but I did use the "For the Record"stamp set and coordinating dies for the sentiment and white heat embossed it. The paper is also from the stamp kit.

If you'd like to see Jennifer's Video that inspired this technique, you can check it out here. My variation is a little different, as I inked up the tie stamp in a light ink shade and than inked up the large textured stamp in a dark ink getting a two toned look. SO FUN!!!

Here are some close ups of the different ties.

A Fun Thank You Card

My husband asked me to make a thank you card for my sister-in-law who took care of our son when he was away at school. This is what I came up with. It uses stamps from the April Simon Stays Stamp Card Kit.

You Make Life Wonderful

This card has been the ultimate work in progress. I started it in February. I loved the flowers on the Kraft card stock. They were so bright and fun but I couldn't figure out how to finish it. Later I played with it some more and added the white dotted lines around the edge and matted it on the pink. FINALLY inspiration struck and I added the paper doily from the February Simon Says Stamp Kit, a new My Favorite Things Little Gardner Stamp and stamped the sentiment with Picked Raspberry Distress Paint.

I love stamping with Distress Paints. It is so surprising how bright and pretty they stay on colored cardstock. So lesson learned...although it may take awhile, you never know when inspiration might hit.

Teddybear Thank you Set

I needed some quick thank you cards and I've been dying to play with my new envelope die. I paper pieced the teddy bears from the SSS Circle friends stamp set. The thank you sentiment is from Lawn Fawn "Lot's of Thanks". I love how these turned out. So adorable! The best part was that they were all done within 30 minutes. You can't beat that.

It's true, I have never used an envelope die before and I realized after I had already given the cards away that I had glued them together wrong. The bottom flap should be glued up last to cover the sides better. I still love them though...and wen sealed you can't tell.

One last Mother's Day Card

This is the last Mother's Day card post. This one is for my Mother-in-Law. It also uses the May Simon Says Stamp Kit. I am in love with this kit. I can't seem to get enough of it.

I love the gold letters using the Delicata gold ink pad. I used marigold and worn lipstick distress markers for the flowers and peeled paint for the leaves.

Mother's Day Card Set

Shhhhh...Don't tell my mother. She has been begging me to make her a card set. This was my first attempt at doing it for someone else. Boy did I feel the pressure. It was SO FUN to do. I love distress inking and I loved trying out some of my new background stamps.

Here is a picture of them packaged up ready to send. I love how the seal turned out:

I made the gold seal with SSS Best Mom Ever Stamp Collection and Delacata Gold Ink. I LOVE how it turned out!

Here is a close up of each of the cards. I love them so much I may have to make a set to keep. This first one is my favorite.

Mother's Day Card

My first blog post. Hopefully I will learn and get better as the time goes on. I've been paper crafting for a few months now but haven't taken the leap to a blog until now. I had a blast making cards for Mother's Day and thought I would share a few of them.

I made this card using the Simon Says Stamp card kit for May but used the template from the His and Hers Card Class I was taking last week. It was my first time to stamp on vellum and I loved it.
