Stitched Journaling Cards

Finally...Here are the cards I promised to share from last week.

You will recognize the one that I already shared. You can check it out here. All three cards feature the stitched journaling card from Lawn Fawn.

The background on all three cards was made the same way. First stamping an image on white card stock, than coloring in the image with Distress Ink.

The pumpkins on this first card are from Penny Black. I never get tired of the magic of simple Copic coloring and what it can do to transform an image, bringing it to life.

Flowers make me smile, and blue, the rich blue of the sky, makes me smile. Blue is such a happy color. So what better sentiment to pair with these sunflowers on this Impression Obsession background.

The gold sparkle Lawn Fawn trimmings finishes it off.

Happy Stamping!!

Loving Lawn Fawn Leaves!

Hello Friends! I've been dying to try out several new products that have been sitting on my craft desk crying out for some love and attention. I am loving Lawn Fawn's Fall Release. OH MY HECK...these leaves are so much fun...and that woodgrain backdrop stamp? I didn't think I would love it...I LOVE IT! Can you see what else there is? This beautiful stitched journaling card is the perfect size for so many projects. When I started playing with it I couldn't stop. I had to make three cards with it yesterday. I will post the others very soon.

This greeting is from Papertrey Ink. Their Think Big Favorites are beautiful and I find myself falling back to them often. I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I love how clean and crisp of an image it gives you every time. It is my favorite ink for stamping greetings and fine detail.

Distress Inks are my newly re-discovered love. There is just nothing in this world that can compare with what these inks can do. My husband was blown away by the rich color and could not believe that outside of the base, this card was created with white card stock and distress inks...and Lawn Fawn of course. :)

There is a great tutorial that you can check out here for some suggestions on how to color these gorgeous leaf dies.

Grab a blanket, some hot chocolate and a good book. Have a great week and a great beginning to your fall. Happy Stamping!

Dream BIG!!

Hi, It's Terri Johnson. Happy Thursday! The skies here are overcast and it seems like fall is determined to visit soon despite my best efforts to stay in denial. School is starting and life is rolling forward. Even though I am sad to see summer come to a close I love the magic of fall. I love the leaves, pumpkins, holidays, and apple pie. I love breaking out my sweaters and jackets...and I LOVE the new fall release stamps from Lawn Fawn!

When my stamps arrived in the mail, I just had to carve out time this week to play with them. I couldn't decide wether to play with the beautiful sunflowers in Our Friendship Grows, or the adorable deer in Into the Woods...so I combined them into one. I mean seriously...how sweet are these stamps?

I'm so in love with this little guy. I had to put some rosy cheeks on him..or her, and of course some white little dots on his backside. I put dimensional adhesive behind his back and double adhesive behind his head so he stood out in front of the flowers.  Eeek! The sunflowers were just begging for some glittery, shimmery fun, so what's a girl to do?

I colored the flowers and the deer with Copic Markers and used the Fiskars Grass Punch for the strip at the bottom. The clouds are from Blue Skies and the sentiment uses Riley's ABC's and Critters Ever After. I used the little trick from Nicole Magouirk this week about just coloring the word(s) you want to use on a stamp with a Black Soot Distress Marker. Brilliant!

Perfect Timing to enter this card in two challenges. First the Lawnscaping challenge is doing a "Favorite Things" Challenge which you can check out here. Also, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog is themed, "Animal Antics". Check that one out here, there's plenty of time to enter!

Have a wonderful week, and may it be sunny in your corner of the world!

Happy Stamping!

I Love A Good Challenge!

This is my second post today so be sure and scroll down and catch the first card! What can I say? It's been a fun crafting day!

When I saw this BEAUTIFUL picture this week on the SPARKS Challenge blog, I just HAD to play along. I wasn't quite sure if I could capture the essence of the flowers because I only have one set of Paper Smooches stamps that have flowers. (I am going to remedy that for sure!)

I wanted to create the soft look of the flowers and using the white gel pen helped with that. I decided to use a "sand" colored chalk ink for the leaves to keep with the color scheme. The sentiment and the flower centers are done in Delacata Gold Ink. I love this ink and how it is so shiny without needing to emboss it. I did, however, use gold embossing powder on a small white strip of card stock to give weightier attention to the gold vase in the picture. I had to emboss it a couple of times to get the strong look I was going for.

These challenges really get you to think outside the box and in unconventional ways. I love that. Here is a close up of the gold ink against the pink flowers.
